A Final Transmission – Short Film

A Final Transmission is a short film passion project in collaboration with industry professionals from the Dutch film industry, Manus, and BUas. We created this short film in our spare time using Xsens mocap suits, Unreal, MotionBuilder, Maya, and our love for stories and films.
This project was an amazing experience that taught me so much about the film industry, collaborating, setting up workflows, new tools, on-set responsibility, storyboarding, MotionBuilder, mocap clean-up, cinematics in Unreal, virtual cameras, and much more.
My main responsibilities were the virtual camera (research, set up, prop building, on-day assistance, processing), animation (body mocap clean-up), training for the mocap supervisor role, re-texturing, video editing, and assisting where needed.
In this breakdown, I show a trailer for the project, the behind the scenes, an example of mocap clean-up, and the process for the virtual camera.
